Сценарий урока по теме «Приближается Рождество» для учащихся 5 класса

Цель урока:
Формирование социокультурной и коммуникативной компетенций по теме урока
Учебная:
• активизировать и закрепить лексику по теме «Рождество»,
• повторить лексику, используемую при описании внешности,
• закрепить грамматические конструкции Present Continuous, Present Simple, предлоги места, местоимения в объектном падеже, оборот to be going to, степени сравнения прилагательных.
• обучать применению теоретических знаний по грамматике на практике.
Развивающая:
 Развивать внимание, зрительную и слуховую память
 Развивать творческую активность учащихся
 Развивать навыки чтения, письма, аудирования и устной речи
 Формировать положительную мотивацию обучения
Воспитательная:
 воспитывать интерес к изучению английского языка
 воспитывать уважительное отношение к культуре другой страны через ее традиции, музыку
 воспитывать уважительное отношение к одноклассникам, работая в команде и выполняя задания

Оборудование: мультимедийный проектор, ноутбук, электронная презентация к уроку, аудиозапись песни “Jingle Bells”, фрагменты мультфильмов “ How the Grinch Stole Christmas” , “ The Story of Santa Claus”, раздаточный материал ( звездочки с загадками о символах Рождества, карточки для групповой работы, карточки для игры, текст для домашнего задания, листок- рефлексия), плакат для парной работы и проекта, шапки Санта Клауса для исполнения песни, искусственная елка, украшенная карточками — предсказаниями от Мистера Гринча на следующий год, картинки — наклейки для украшения комнаты к Рождеству, Рождественские открытки, приготовленные учащимися заранее дома, карточки с Рождественской тематикой для подсчета баллов в игре.

T: I am really glad to see you at our lesson. Look at the blackboard. The topic of our lesson is …… Oh, it has disappeared. What shall I do? Do you want to help me?

T: You have green triangles on your desks. Which group has got the smallest triangle? Read the word on it.

T: Ok. Come here and put it on the blackboard.

T: Which group has got a bigger triangle? Read your word

T: Thank you. Put it under the smallest triangle.

T: And your group has got the biggest triangle. Read the word on your triangle.

T: Put your triangle on the blackboard, too. What is it?

P: It`s a Christmas tree.

T: Let`s read the sentence in our tree. I`m sure you know that Xmas is another name for Christmas?

T: So, what is our lesson about?

P: About Christmas.

T: You are right. The topic of our lesson is “Christmas is coming” We are going to work in groups and to revise what you know about Christmas, Christmas traditions and its main fairy heroes. I wish you to be active and hardworking. At the end of the lesson the most active pupils will get Christmas cards from our special guest which can predict the future. I hope that the lesson will be interesting for you.

T: I really love Christmas holidays. What about you? Do you like Christmastime?

P: Yes, I do

T: Why do you like it?

P: — I can spend a lot of time with my family and friends

— I like to watch Christmas movies (films)

— I like to get presents

— I enjoy Christmas shopping

— I love it because of the smell of tangerines and a fir tree

— I can wear masks and fancy dresses at Christmas

— Because we celebrate it with lots of food and in big companies of relatives and friends

— I like Christmas because Santa Claus comes.

— I enjoy decorating the Christmas tree with my family

T:  But not all like Christmas. There are some characters who don`t think this holiday is so good. One of them is Mr. Grinch. The Grinch is a green nasty creature that hates Christmas, and He wants to spoil our Christmas. Let`s listen to what he says.

T: Does he like Christmas?

P: No, he doesn`t

T: how do you think? Why? Make your suggestions

P: -He dislikes looking for presents (maybe)

— He likes to watch TV and doesn`t like going to parties.( Perhaps you are right)

— He dislikes to look for a Christmas tree in cold winter weather

— He can`t stand Christmas shopping

T: Mr. Grinch wants to stop Christmas from coming. He wants to steal all our presents and decorations. Look at our holiday card on the blackboard. What letter has Grinch stolen in its heading?

P: Letter “H”

T: But he can give it back if we guess his riddles. Choose a riddle, read it aloud and guess Christmas symbols.

Santa Claus puts presents into them at night…………………            (stockings)

People often spend a lot of money on them and open on Christmas morning……………………(presents)

He climbs down the chimney and leaves presents in long socks………………………….(Santa Claus)

They help Santa Claus make presents for children and work at his workshop…………………….(elves)

T: What other Christmas symbols can you name? Name the symbols from the first(second,third) line on the screen.

T: You are very clever and Grinch will never spoil Christmas.

T: We have pictures of Santa Claus and Father Frost on the screen. There are some differences between them. Look at their hats, beards, coats, mittens, boots and glasses.

T: I suggest you to work in groups again.

The first group should describe Santa Claus

The second group should describe Father Frost

The cards, pictures and questions will help you.  Fill in the missing words in your cards and get ready to answer these questions.

T: Look! Grinch`s living room isn`t ready for a Christmas party   So, let`s decorate it for him. We have necessary things to do it.  Take what you like and put it where you like. In pairs, ask and answer where you are going to put these things.

Example:

-Where are you going to put the star?

— I am going to put it on the Christmas tree.

T: Now, listen to me , follow my instructions and comment your actions.

Use the example: I am putting the cake on the table.

— Put the presents under the Christmas tree, please.

— Hang the stockings on the fireplace, please.

— Stick the snowman on the window, please.

— Hang the garland on the fireplace, please.

— Put this  pudding next to the turkey, please.

Let`s play a game. We need two teams: Santas and Snowmen. There are 2 envelopes with 5 questions in each of them. Look through your questions and be ready to find answers from the cartoon. The most attentive team is the winner.
